2 Thoughts on Thursday

English weather is a fickle mistress, but the past week has just been ridiculous.  Just today we had bright, warm sunshine with electric blue skies, then freezing hail and graphite-dark clouds, then warm and muggy with puffy white clouds and drizzly rain.  There's a reason why weather is the most common topic of conversation here!

At what point will I become mature enough to go to bed at a reasonable hour?!?  I seem to function best between 10PM and 2AM- times not conducive to functioning in an adult world- especially in a country that seems to be showered and dressed before 6AM every day!

This was the view yesterday as I was driving to my friend's house.  As I pulled over to take pictures, I actually teared up- I'm going to miss this place so much!
Oh, and in reference to the above comment- a couple of hours after this everything turned dark and we had sleet and heavy rain.  Like I said- ridiculous.
By the way- the colors in these pictures are not manipulated- they really are this vibrant!
Lately, I've been debating going back to school- an idea that simultaneously intimidates and excites me.  I always intended to get a zoology/wildlife/animal sciences degree along with my photography one- and that desire hasn't faded over the years.  At the same time, the thought of going back into student-mode after 6.5 years out is daunting!

I miss Paul when he's working nights, and I hate how our schedules make it so we only see each other for an hour or so each day (when he's on nights),
but I do love waking up to this face next to me.

(Okay, so this is an old picture and I don't get an adorable yawn- complete with the Cindy-Lou Who "ahhhhh!" noise- every morning.  But man, this little boy controls my heart.)

What's been on your mind today?

  1. Weather wise, we had a strange day. 34 degrees when I got up this morning and like 73 degrees or so now... odd.

School wise, I reeeeeally want to go back for my MFA but I can't for at least another year and a half which kinda sucks. But it gives me time to get my porfolio built up too which is good. I say if you wanna go back figure out a way to do it and make it work. It'll suck for a little while but the end result will be worth it and something to be proud of.

  2. I'd cry if I had to leave that view just after a one-week vacation! So enormous, grand, and breathtaking!

And I'm with you on the subject of school! I want to apply to graduate school! It's fun to research programs and imagine all the things I want to accomplish!
