As I was getting ready for bed around 3 AM (yes, we've discussed my poor sleep habits), I realized the sky was beginning to brighten with sunrise. I went downstairs, grabbed my camera and tripod, and drove a few miles to a hill overlooking Nidderdale.
I then sat in my car listening to my "shhhhhhhh" playlist, getting out every 5 or so minutes to take a picture.
Edit: I had written "10-15 minutes" but I was only out there for an hour, so that is clearly wrong.

I thought to myself, "Too bad the solstice is tomorrow, 'cause it would be cool to have sunrise pictures of the actual solstice."
Well. Imagine my delight when I read that, due to Leap Year, the solstice is actually today!
I swung by this field on my way back home and woke up the sheep. Whoops!
Lovely! Despite my grumblings about the weather here right now, this time of year in England is my favorite because of the never-ending daylight! Well captured!
